How to Make Your House Feel Cleaner in 15 Minutes

Want your house to feel noticeably cleaner in 15 minutes?

Start with what your eyes see.

Minutes 1–5: Clear the counters.

Counters covered in mail, dishes, bags, random purchases, and yesterday’s coffee mug can make an otherwise clean room feel cluttered and dirty. Put it all away. Clear all high surfaces (even if that means setting them on a stool until the next step).

Minutes 6–10: Do the things that take five minutes or less.

Take out the trash. Put the dishes in the dishwasher. Move the laundry. Wipe down the bathroom sink. Anything quick that you’ve been putting off? Do it now.

Minutes 11–15: Tidy up.

Fluff the pillows. Fold the throw blankets. Straighten the chairs. Put shoes away. Make the bed. Reset the room so everything feels intentional again.

You’re not deep cleaning. You’re just giving your home a little breathing room.

Sometimes that’s all you need to keep you balanced.
